  Komentarz od Pani Theres Huber,właścicielki ośrodka jeździeckiego Koenigmairgut,znanej polskim hodowcom i zawodnikom z DH Gładyszów i Int. Huzulenchampionat w Stadl Paura(AUT) „W roku 2004 kupiłam u Pani Jansen moje pierwsze dwa hucuły, w międzyczasie mam ich już sześć,a w roku 2011 doczekaliśmy się pierwszego źrebaka z własnej hodowli!!!! W mojej własnej szkole jeździeckiej pracują pilnie konie różnych ras: od szetlanda ,poprzez DRP, szlachetnej półkrwi ,jak i trzy konie pełnej krwi. U hucułów szczególnie cenię ich „naturalność”,są one inteligentne,nieprawdopodobnie krzepkie, a ich siła i wytrwałość jest godna uwagi. Mam nadzieję ,że hodowcy konia huculskiego nie „zatracą” tego „starego typu”,którego poznałam i w którym się zakochałam. W 2009 roku miałam możliwość startować w „Dniach Huculskich” w Gładyszowie i nocować w hotelu „Jaśmin”.Było to dla mnie fantastyczne przeżycie,wszak ogierowi Jaśmin zawdzięczam moje najlepsze hucuły!!! Utrata srokatych hucułów będzie dla nas niepowetowana! Przy zakupie konia rasy huculskiej,nie szukam „Sportpony” o wzroście 150 cm w kłębie,lecz sympatycznego,inteligentnego,stąd też nie zawsze łatwego hucułka z wysokością w kłębie 130-140 cm,który jest albo gniady,kary,bułany albo SROKATY!!! Odniosłam wiele sukcesów z moimi hucułami.Jednym z najwiekszych jest 1. miejsce: Pegaz, AUT – „Allaround Champion” na I Międzynarodowym Championacie Koni Huculskich Stadl Paura 2009-(ex equo z Agnieszką Sojką na og.Puszkar,PL)” Theres Huber,Austria www.reitanlage-koenigmairgut.at

  Naranka, 1995 (Jasmin/Nambia), ... since 12 years by now I own this wonderful piebald Hucul mare - in full the old type. What's that: I 'own'? A Hucul owns itself and if the owner is lucky there is a deep friendship for life. Naranka lives in an open stable at the medows in front of the house and togehter with her cohabitant, the Hucul mare Pilica, 1995 (Parter/Ploska). Naranka is family member, keeps an eye on the life around daylong, is of alert mind and actively works in therapy as dayly routine. When realizing that kids come up the woodside she whinnying runs out of the stable, beeing happy so much to work with them. She is very much designed with the people in mind - typical for the piebalds within Huculs - and she wants to be on hand for the kids and their emotional needs. In my profession as teacher, riding instructor and hippology therapeut I am working in two other riding stables too. And I am working with warm-blooded, with thoroughbred and ponies. Each horse has its own personality. But at home again with my Huculs I throughout feel: here are the beings which put across how 'real horses' had been prior to beeing trimmed by men. Huculs still put across the undomesticated, the impetuousness, the authentic which is lost by the civilized mankind but is longing for in these days. In fact mankind doesn't want what's cut to size, what's adapted, what's a slave of civilisation. But only kids and teenager especially appreciate this spontaneousness, open mindedness and originality. Actually they still are somewhat similar. When we are out and about for several days in the Gutensteiner Alps with our Huculs and a youth group 'looking for visions', and the Huculs are going as like as a Swiss clockwork, hour by hour and even on rough site, and when the kids find to one`s self,- partly riding partly walking in the atmosphere of this old cultural piece of 'mountain walking' - then for the most part we owe it these mountain horses, according to their particular nature. By Huculs in my opinion we can find and find again new (but infact old) attitudes of living together and living with nature. It's we who should adapt to this 'still straight horse' with its basic instincts. If we turn it round we loose a precious piece of culture. May be it's only an old, strong oak you still can Huculs compare with. I could write a book on these personalities of horses, but I'll come to an end however: the Hucul and especially the piebald one is - compared to the good warm-blooded horse, breeded for special puposes - is the horse as such, the horse with self-competence and self-efficiency. To have one's will next to a Hucul therefore calls for a learning and continuous exercize of one's self-competence and authenticity. What may be more important these days?   Komentarz Bettiny Kressl,która sama definiuje się jako oddana fanka huculów!!! Od ponad dziewięciu lat posiadam hucuły,obecnie mam ich pięć:dwa wałachy i trzy klacze.Obydwie pierwsze klacze: Krajka(Oskar/Kobra) i Gorli(Ousor IX/Goral XIX-14) pochodzą z Club Hucul Austria małżeństwa Jansenów. Kochana srokata Krajka urodziła przed sześcioma laty córkę Kalinę,po ogierze Luzifer. Krajka i Kalina są do siebie charakterem podobne.Jednak każdy z moich huculów jest indywidualistą. Z moimi końmi organizuję wypady w piękną dolinę Gosau u podnóża Dachsteinu i udzielam lekcji jazdy konnej. Nawet w ciężkim wysokoalpejskim terenie radzą sobie doskonale i są wytrzymałe. Przy szkoleniu moich młodszych koni bardzo pomogła mi najstarsza Krajka.Swoją spokojną aurą sprawiała ,że inne hucuły jej i mnie natychmiast zaufały. Podczas wyjazdów w teren Krajka idzie zawsze na przodzie,wtedy łatwiej jest innym koniom przechodzić nawet obok choćby to najwiekszych „strachów” W roku 2009 brałyśmy razem z Krajką udział w I Międzynarodowym Championacie Konia Huculskiego w Stadl Paura. Wsród moich koni to właśnie te srokate posiadają tą szczególną wrażliwość dla tych „innych” ludzi.Na obydwu srokatych klaczach mogą jeździć 2,5 letnie dzieci jak i ludzie niepełnosprawni.Jeśli ci „specjalni”goście lub dzieci nas odwiedzają Krajka jako pierwsza podbiega do mnie.Wsród moich klientów mam nawet niewidomą Panią,która w mojej obecności wyjeżdża na Krajce w teren. Córka Krajki –Kalina pokazała w tym roku ,podczas tradycyjnej jazdy bożonarodzeniowej,że jest koniem na którym niespełna trzyletnie dzieci mogą już demonstrować umiejętności jeździeckie. Jestem bardzo dumna ze wszystkich moich hucułów i mam z nimi dużo radości,ale bez tych dwóch srokatych klaczy brakowałoby czegoś w moim życiu.   Jestem zootechnikiem i Polakiem żyjącym na obczyźnie.Konie odkąd sięgam pamięcią były moją fascynacją.Tak pozostało do dnia dzisiejszego może z małą różnicą ,że to hucuły zajęły moje serce.W dzieciństwie ,chyba ze względu na ich niesamowity bukiet, marzyłam o arabach i do dziś powtarzam sobie ,że jeszcze kiedyś,kiedyś zamieszka u nas polski gniady arab albo małopolski z dużym dolewem czystej krwi.Póki co jestem szczęśliwym posiadaczem koni huculskich .Moje klacze są dla mnie namiastką Polski.Zawsze było dla mnie oczywiste,jeśli hucuł to z ojczyzny,z dobrym rodowodem , poprawnej budowy(wszak doskonały koń nie istnieje) i jeden z nich musi być srokaty(choć Pan Bóg mi świadkiem za srokaczami nie przepadam).Do dzisiejszego dnia nie żałuję mojego wyboru,wręcz przeciwnie,codziennie utwierdzam się w przekonaniu: „ein gutes Pferd hat keine Farbe-dobry koń nie ma maści”.Planowane przez HIF zmiany hodowlane są dla mnie wielkim ciosem,jednak żadnym zaskoczeniem!!!Od lat obserwuje się nieprzychylne nastawienie HIF do polskiej hodowli.Zaskakiwać może jedynie pasywna postawa polskiej delegacji w HIF-ie,a fakt ,że polscy hodowcy jako ostatni dowiadują się o planowanych zmianach dopełnia całej tragiki. Czyżby dalsze losy wieloletniej pracy hodowlanej były naszym urzędnikom obojętne? HIF miał być z założenia organizacją umożliwiającą współpracę hodowlaną między krajami członkowskimi. Co z biegiem czasu pozostało z tych chwalebnych założeń?Czy stwarzanie odrębnych ksiąg w obrębie hodowli zachowawczej ma sens i czy na pewno jej nie szkodzi?!

  My comment to the plans of dissociating the huzul population: Since 2009 my daughter and me own two huzuls and we are simply enthused over the attributes of this race: intelligent and original, with willingness to learn and yet individual. These horses take part in everything, provided they like their people: I passed the huzul path in Stadl-Paura with Hrabina though she trained jumping only by 3 logs in the forest; that was all of exercise. She watched log moving of our gelding for an hour, then we have yoked her and she worked as if it were daily work! Such a race must be preserved I thought and started considerations how to mate Hrabina. Studying pedigrees I saw how closely related all huzuls were (in Austria, Poland, Czech and Romania) and that they base on a few founders only. In my opinion each mating must be planed and considered carefully in order to suppress the inbreeding in the entire population as much as possible (to realize an increase of the inbred factor as low as possible). And now I get the information that this genetically small basis shall be subdivided in two populations! Implementing this plan means in my opinion the dead of this marvellous race, because a steep increase of the inbreeding in both populations will enhance problems with diseases of the immune system (i.e. allergies and tumours) and so in the long run bring about the perdition of the huzul horse. Who wants to be responsible for this far reaching decision? I ask all who feel as friends and breeders of the huzul horse to reconsider whether the dispute on markings justifies a decision like this. *********** Ulla Huspeka Gerersdorf 2 3443 Sieghartskirchen, Austria „veterinary“

  Dialog among Tanja Forstner (owner of the piebald huzuls gelding Kozak (Agat/Kobra) and mare Kamina (Jadeit/ Kokietka)) and Christine Jansen (breeder of Kozak and Kamina, Club Hucul Austria) ** Christine: Hallo Tanja, could You please write down something about Your huzuls? ** ## Tanja: hallo Christine, you may still have the emails I’ve written regarding kozak?! Perhaps you can make an excerpt of them...## ** Christine: yes, I could do so. Hymns of praise they had been regarding Kozak, your “Kosi”: “...he is sensible, ...he realizes my fettle, ...we are bosom friends, ...I never had a horse which responded like he”. I could fill an entire page with Your declarations about “fallen in love” with Kozak.** ## Tanja: with respect for riding they are faultless for kids, leisure activities and hobby sport...## ** Christine: ...yes, with respect for riding many of them are faultless. None horse is a “child horse”. But if, mostly the piebald huculs are “ child horses**. ## Tanja: in pony sport they lack potential in paces, for jumping they miss their heart, at least Kozak. He wasn’t the sport horse by nature. With Kamina we never will know it, as she should not jump because of her hoof problems, though she would have more bite by character.## ** Christine: The huzul isn’t a sport pony. He ‘doesn’t miss heart’ but he is ‘over intelligent’ to jump for no reason, if he can go around or beside the obstacle. Problems with hoof or tendons ... a huzul should as few as possible paricipate on jumping parcours! Neither You nor anyone else interested in huzuls I have sold or recommended huzuls to be sport ponies **. ##Tanja: Oh yes, it’s fun to go pure huzul dedicated competitions (which are rare however) and in this competition huzuls are pleasant to handle.## ** Christine: ...yes, it’s fun to go huzul dedicated competitions. That’s right but ..they are performed only in Poland and in Hungarian National Park Aggtelek, and since some years in Szigetcsep and sometimes at Farma Olszowka by Jiri Tetzeli in CZ. But they are not to compare with the others. (In ÖZP-Prof. Maier, Austria and in Kreuth-Hankes (Bayern-BRD) were organized with Maciej Jackowski between the years 2002-2008 beautiful huzul path and competitions. The competitions in Poland however are too hard and skilled already and are passed mainly by adults. In Hungary however, praiseworthy and innovative in particular at the huzul days in Aggtelek - Josfavö about August 20th there are 3 types of huzul paths: one for kids ... extraordinary what kids already have the courage to go with excellent trained huzuls a second one for adults (and courage kids) with a low level military course of 8 km a third one as sport competition, very selective alike Poland, with a Marathon course with obstacles. This way horses and riders can exercise up through all 3 huzul paths**. ## Tanja: Don’t mistake, I don’t want to belittle huzuls. I gave a resume of my experience with my both huzuls , and this is only a small basis. All in all I would be a pity to eliminate piebald. They pep up the grey and bay of native huzuls, they are real eye catcher and kids love them - mainly for the colour featuring Red Indian ponies - but in fact being uncomplicated. ## ** Christine: I will agree fully ... and add: not only for kids**! ##Tanja: I hope that I could help You a little bit and I’m sending best greetings from Lower Austria to the whole huzul family, Tanja.## ** Christine: Thanks too for this straight and critical – just for me sadly - contribution of Tanja, she was winner 2009 in Stadl Paura with Kozak in Dressage, with him at formost places in some military competitions, contriat champion in the ‘rural riding classes’ in Lower Austria for several years - competitions which traditionally are kept by haflinger. Kamina took part in Stadl Paura too**. PS: This critical contribution should receive, that one investigates in detail what the intended usage of a horse should be You buy and what it is predestinated for - whatever race - but especially with huzuls. Tanja however informed herself very intensive and good before buying Kozak and Kamina. As much as Tanja, by myself I`m and it`s very sad. CJ
